The HSC Health Care System is a multi-faceted organization that weaves together a comprehensive approach to caring, serving, and empowering individuals with disabilities. It is comprised of a care coordination plan (Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc.), a pediatric specialty hospital (The HSC Pediatric Center), and a home health agency (HSC Home Care, LLC)

DID YOU KNOW?

In 1883 the Children’s Country Home (now known as The HSC Pediatric Center) was created to help DC’s poor and sick children.

In 1953, The HSC Pediatric Center became a full member of the American Hospital Association (AHA).

In 1996, HSC Health Services for Children with Special Needs, Inc. a care coordination organization, enrolled their first member.

In 2009, HSC Home Care, LLC, the only licensed home care agency in Washington, DC area to provide services for infants, children and youth through the age of 21 with disabilities is formed.

In 2011, the National Youth Transitions Center (NYTC) was established as a collaborative learning community to benefit youth and young veterans with disabilities. The NYTC assists youth and young veterans with disabilities in creating and living a self-directed path to adulthood and employment.
